Somali Youth Week

In the first week of April we worked with Somali Community Association Queensland to host the Somali Youth Week Tournament over a period of two days. The family friendly event invited families to participate in various activities, celebrate young people and encourage them to partake in community events. A soccer tournament was held which included the participation of eight teams, the inclusion of this tournament encouraged participants to compete in a friendly environment, improve their skills and build new friendships. Furthermore, rock climbing activities were a success in helping connect young people whilst also giving them experience. A barbecue was provided during the day to reenergise our participants and break barriers between families. QIS was delighted to be part of this great organisation as the event was successful in achieving its desired outcomes and building bridges.som1 som2 som3 som4 som5
