QIS members Kursad Dogan, Mrs.Korkmaz and Ms. Korkmaz, Mrs. Emriye, Ayse Savran and director Yasar Savran celebrated Easter with Ms.Margaret Naylon from Ecumenism and Inter-religious Relations, Ministry and Community Life Team of Faith and Life Vicariate, Father Ian Frankling and Father Gerard and a large group of Christians.

QIS directors Yasar Savran and Fatih Asar attended inauguration ceremony of the Ancestral Memorial Hall of the Amitabha Buddhist Association alongside hundreds of community leaders from various faith groups in Australia.

Queensland Intercultural Society participated in a joint pilgrame to Istanbul and Rome with a group of Australian Muslim and Catholics leaders. This first of its kind event has enabled religious leaders from both faith groups to study and understand each others religious principles, customs and significant institutions by means of a close encounter. The important pilgrimage was organized under the umbrella of the historic MOU signed between the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne and the Australian Intercultural Society.

Queensland Intercultural Society directors Fatih Asar, Murat Coskun, Yasar Savran and Mr Emre Celik, General Coordinator of Australian Intercultural Society (AIS) met His Grace Archbishop Bathersby and Ms Margaret Naylon from Catholic Archiodese last friday.

It was a very warm and fruitful meeting as His Grace and QID directors shared opinions on society and faith and importance of interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
