QIS attended One G-d Many Voices concert at the Griffith University Multifaith Centre last evening.
This was the 3rd annual concert conducte The concert started with Ariel Heber blowing the Shofar and following with songs from Israel and Jewish tradition. Griffith University quartet Urchin mesmerized the audience with their performance featuring East-European Jewish music. Queensland Turkish Islamic Cultural Centre then performed Adhan and recited last 2 verses of Sura-al Bakara from the Holy Quran. QIS president Fatih Asar explained the Adhan tradition and Quranic translation for the audience. Torres Strait Islander Christian group "Warriors" performed funky tunes and afterwards a sufi group performed Persian music. The performers later came onto the stage to perform "We are Australia" altogether. The guests enjoyed Indian dishes provided by Sultan Deen. Feedback has been extremely positive and the audience enjoyed themselves immensely.
